Remembering our Grandmother's Gardens
I like to plant a garden that tells a family story for my grandchildren.
First I make a list of all the flowers I remember my Grandmother's planted year after year.
My Grandmother loved to grow sweetpeas and they became my favorite flower too.

My Mother always planted gladiolus. I don't see them in many personal gardens anymore so I will plant some in my garden as a tribute to my Mother. This photograph is of my Mom and Dad's summer home by the lake and there you will see - the yellow gladiolus standing tall and elegant against the house.
